Who Are The Healers?
The Healers are an international collective of dancers, recognized by MKIZ and guided by Albir Rojas and Natalia. Through kizomba, they offer more than social dance, they create experiences rooted in presence, connection, and conscious movement.
Rather than a separate style, their approach deepens the quality of kizomba, emphasizing fluidity, musicality, and genuine human connection. Each dancer is trained in awareness, sensitivity, and embodied presence, fostering safe spaces for authentic interaction.
The Healers don’t claim to “heal,” but facilitate moments of balance, co-regulation, and meaningful connection, transforming a simple dance into a deeply human experience.

Festivals & Events
Where You Can Meet And Dance With The Healers
The Healers take part in festivals where you can meet them on the dancefloor, dance with them, and experience something unique. It is an opportunity to feel the power of hugs, discover what deep connection means, and experience what it is to be truly present in the dance.
Only official Healers take part in festivals. They have completed The Healers Academy and carry the knowledge, awareness, and skills that are part of this path.

The Path To Becoming A Healer

Initial Application
Submit an expression of interest and share your movement background and intentions. Get free access to the first 2 videos of The Healers Academy and join The Healers WhatsApp chat.

Discovery / Chemistry Call
Chat with the team, ask questions and discover more about the process.

The Healers Academy
Upon successful application, enter The Healers Academy and complete the full course to become accredited.
Student Healer Phase Move through The Healers Academy content and receive mentorship and feedback.
Graduation To Official Healer Complete The Healers Academy content and an in-person connection session dance.
After applying to become a Healer, you can also choose to become an official member of The Healers Community. (Please note: this is different from becoming an official Healer after completing The Healers Academy and passing the exam).
Community membership is paid and gives access to all lessons inside The Healers Academy, special online community sessions once a month, and a dedicated WhatsApp chat supporting the journey through The Healers Academy.
Renewal After 12 months, the membership fee must be paid again, yearly or monthly, if you wish to continue.

Festivals
Attend selected festivals as an Official Healer and have your profile added to the MKIZ Healers website.

A Note About The Journey
Stepping into the path of a Healer is both a personal and collective commitment. To support the structure and depth of the training, there is a one-time setup fee as well as an annual membership for those who choose to remain active within The Healers collective.
Membership is renewed yearly and helps sustain the continued growth, opportunities, and presence of the group. Upon completing The Healers Academy, you will receive official accreditation as recognition of your journey and development.
There is no obligation to become an Official Healer. Some may choose to complete the training purely for personal growth, which is equally valued and respected.
The path is open to both leaders and followers, and dancers from all backgrounds are welcome. While not essential, the ability to both lead and follow is a beautiful addition to the practice, deepening connection, empathy, and understanding within the dance.

How To Become An Officially Recognised Healer?
To become an officially recognised Healer, you need to complete The Healers Academy and take part in at least one Live Session, or watch the video recording of a session. At minimum, this takes one month.
You also need to pass an individual interview, online or in person, with Albir, Natalia, Taryn, or Sergei.
You need to have at least one in-person dance experience at an event with Albir, Natalia, Taryn, or Sergei.
You must also be an active member of The Healers Community with paid membership.
After successfully completing these steps, you become an officially recognised Healer. Your profile is placed in the Official Healers section, and you can use the full benefits of being an official Healer, including free passes to festivals collaborating with The Healers Project.
